Stone Union is a stone-focused artist studio and gallery in New York City, created to give stone sculptors a true home and to introduce collectors, designers, and the public to the full range of contemporary stone works. The project combines a professional shared studio, equipped specifically for stone artists, with room for classes and specialty work. For the public at large, there is a dedicated gallery that showcases sculpture, objects, furniture, lighting, and wearable works in stone from local and international artists.

At its core, the Stone Union studio exists to solve a structural problem: in New York, it is prohibitively expensive and technically difficult for emerging and mid-career stone artists to build out their own space. There is currently no shared studio in New York designed for stone sculpting at a truly professional scale. The studio provides access to infrastructure like air compressors, air filtration, specialized tools, and safe work areas through a membership model and a menu of classes for those interested in exploring the medium, expanding their abilities, or learning a specialty skill.

The Stone Union gallery is unlike any other space in New York. There are no gallery spaces devoted exclusively to stone art. The Stone Union gallery offers a curated platform for stone work in a city that is already a global center for art, design, and architecture, with a focus on sculpture, object art, furniture, lighting, and wearables. Anchored by a cafe, the gallery becomes a third space where admirers of art and practitioners can meet and mingle, while also hosting events both public and private.

The project is built around a set of values as much as a set of spaces: access, creation, and community. Stone Union is designed to be financially viable and growth-oriented, but also to model a more ethical way of building institutions. Stone Union intends to support artists with real infrastructure, clear opportunities to thrive (through teaching and sales), and a sense of belonging to something larger than a single studio or show. For investors and collaborators, Stone Union represents both a niche, under-served opportunity in a growing market for collectible design and fine art, and a long-term platform for building a visible, durable presence for stone in New York City.
